Update

Just got back from a triathlon training session…didn’t do the swimming though, just biking and running. I felt a bit queasy before the gym and the running was really making it worse so I did intervals between jogging and walking. Hope I’m not getting sick!  Tonight is the first bellydance class so I’m excited about that.

Yesterday was an okay day. No exercise (but that’s okay, that was the plan). My calories were a bit higher than I would have liked, but still well within an acceptable range. I really need to start forcing myself to drink more water though.

Workout Music?

Yesterday ended up being an okay day diet-wise. I was around my caloric goal and I did my weights at home in the evening.  Today is my rest day from exercise so I’ll be taking it easy.

My playlist that I use for workouts is getting a little stale…does anyone have some suggestions for songs that you love to exercise to? I’d appreciate it!

Getting Serious…

So I’m new here. I am 23, a Ph.D. student, and I have lost a significant amount of weight already. In spring 2005 I was at approximately 200 lbs. I decided to start eating healthier and within 6 months I was down to around 170 lbs. I then moved to a new city to start graduate school and hovered around that weight for 1 year. I then started developing odd eating habits and would obsess about my weight and went through cycles of starving and binging. Through this I went down to 145 lbs and that is where I am at now. My weight has remained stable for a couple of months now and I am determined to lose the rest of my weight with healthy methods.

I have a couple of workout buddies in my research laboratory and we are training for a mini-triathlon next June. Here is my weekly workout schedule:

Monday: yoga/pilates class (60 min.)

Tuesday: weights/core (45 min.)

Wednesday: off

Thursday: triathlon training (120 min.), bellydancing class (60 min.)

Friday: off

Saturday: yoga class (60 min.)

Sunday: triathlon training (120 min.)
